Tokaji Aszú is one of the world’s finest and best-known natural, noble sweet wines. The birth of aszú grapes is due to the special microclimate of Tokaj-Hegyalja wine region. This wine specialty is made of shriveled and botrytis-infected aszú grapes. When the grapes are harvested, the aszú grapes are handpicked one by one from the bunches of grapes. Tokaji Aszú must be matured for at least 3 years before commercialization, including at least 18 months in barrels according to current regulations.
